We stayed at World Heritage Hotel 18 months ago, it's literally 2 minutes from Blue Mosque and trams in a quiet street. We were on the early flight from Ercan and arrived at the hotel at 9am with the intention of dumping our bags and going off sightseeing. They insisted we have breakfast and proceeded to get our room ready while we were eating. They went out of their way to be helpful, we were offered refreshments every time we arrived back and they put out cakes every afternoon

Price wise it goes from the sublime to the ridiculous and bearing in mind that Istanbul is built on hills it is easy to make a mistake as we did on one occasion when we stayed in the Sultanahmet district. Would suggest you go on to booking.com, pick out one that fits your pocket etc and then contact them direct to see if your choice is on the same level as Agia Sophia, Blue Mosque. the Cistern etc. Istanbul.........................one of the cities you have to see before you die. We love it to bits and the public transport is excellent and very cheap, although be prepared to pay over the odds a bit in the Sultanahmet area as it caters for tourists, as does any city close to historical buildings etc.

Really depends on what you want and budget. Doubletree has best beds I : have ever slept in and next to Bazaar. 7 hills good boutique with restaurant on top. Neorian generally faultless and has indoor pool. Follow the review and rating on booking. Com as you actually have to stay there to do a review as opposed to trip advisor where there are so many fake ones.
Some are wise and some otherwise.....

Stayed at The Pierre-Lotte twice very comfortable with a marvellous roof top restaurant and a great location on the main road just up from the Blue Mosque. Price very reasonable these days with the shortage of tourists this year paid £140 for 3 nights which included a free taxi ride to Ataturk Airport. Well recommended will be back in October

We stayed at the Ottoman Imperial in Sultanahmet, good location, lovely room especially the bathroom, sumptuous breakfast, nice staff.
But......wherever you stay ignore the man in the street who claims to know you from your hotel and recommends the Aras restaurant in Sultanahmet, check it out on TripAdvisor. It could be a very costly mistake!
