Converting toilet pipes to take toilet paper
Is converting toilet pipes to take toilet paper feasable? If it is feasable, do any members know who does it. Thanks

On further inspection of our system we found the pipes were more than adequate in our old village house but the inspection hatches were rough concrete, once redone and smooth we have had no problems in the last 10 years.

What effect does the paper have on the septic tank bacteria, storage capability etc? There might be implications, but I'm sure some sanitation guru will know.

We did inquire and was told toilet paper was bio gradable but admittedly ladies of the house for the dab and dry a bin is used to keep paper input low.tomsteel wrote:What effect does the paper have on the septic tank bacteria, storage capability etc? Re: Converting toilet pipes to take toilet paper
We have had our place now for 11 years and have the UK standard waste pipes and a septic tank. We flush reasonable quantities of paper and have not had a single problem. However we do use a product from the UK which enhances the bacteria in the tank and we do this 6 monthly

Re: Converting toilet pipes to take toilet paper
We use a monthly bacterial supplement and do not allow paper to enter the toilet system. We have infrequent guests so for us, it is not a problem to bin paper, wipes etc. However, if a sanitation guru could offer an expert view, we would be very interested if it meant no more daily paper removal of bins.
