E111 -EHIC medical card reciprocal agreement
Talking to my Consultant at Near East ( professor Soner) he informs me that THERE is a reciprocal agreement between Turkey & UK for free medical treatment. As Turkey is a European country, which is nothing too do with EURO zone.
Providing you are in have an up too date E111 medical card.
You do need to have a UK address, how this works for Expats don't know, I am not expat more of a swallow.
This does not apply to TRNC as it does not exist in Europe.
You can renew or apply for your E111 online.

So you could get treatment in Turkey if needed? So could get referred from here to the mainland?

I've used the E 111 in the south for emergency treatment before.

I couldn't use it in Turkey, didn't accept it as it is not recognised in Turkey.
I live in the UK and was on holiday.

Its nothing too do with being in EU which Turkey is not, But Turkey is a European country this is where the reciprocal agreement is in place, this was confirmed by a very high medical source in Turkey.
Example anyone requiring Kidney dyalisis it can be done in Turkey using E111.

Gov.uk website latest foreign travel advice says it is not valid in Turkey. It does not have a reciprocal health care agreement. That was the reason I could not use it in Hospital in Cesme Turkey. The Hospital contacted my insurance to make sure they would pay for my treatment which they did.
