We had ours installed by Kibsolar very professional service, every house is different, but we had 16 panels installed for €8000. Should generate between €1000 to €1300 credit per year.

When you say credit - is this surplus in monetary terms? i.e a repayment?

The mentioning of “a” solar panel does not indicate “what kind of” solar panels is wanted.
A Solar thermal (hot water or even hot air) , better called a "solar collector", or PV (electricity) , better called a "solar module" ... ?
Maybe ardstrawray specifies the needs.

For 8k we obviously installed a PV net-metering system (with solar modules).
The produced electricity from solar will be deducted from your bill, possible excess power (in kWh) will be credited for future use.

See Renewable Energy section.

The 16 panels will generate between €1000 to €1300 worth of electricity per year, any amount of generated electricity that you do not use is credited back to your Kibtek account to use at later date.

Hi

What happens if you just keep building up credit. Will KibTek pay you for putting electricity into the grid?

lasagne,
well, yes. with some complications.
once a year (i think it was february) you have the possibility to write an application to kibtek that you would like to cash your credits.
sure is, kibtek will pay the "lowest tariff".
whether "fees" or others are deducted and so on.. no clue.
no idea who did this to date and how it worked out in terms "when" kibtek finally payed the money. in august? i really do not know.

note, that in a net metering solar system, your produced kWh are "net deducted" from your consumption.
eg, you use say, 9000 kWh a year. / 12 month = 750 kWh a month.
meaning, 250 kWh of your consumption must be payed in tariff 3, 250 in tariff 2 and 250 in tariff 1.
prices are , today and incl VAT:
1,03 lira, 95,7 kurus and 86,9 kurus per kWh.
(so, your average monthly bill is 250 x 1,03 + 250 x 0,957 + 250 x 0,869 = 714 lira (incl VAT) + standing charge (+ VAT) and street lights (+ VAT) )

so, in this example a "full needs covering" solar systems net-metered kWh is worth , say, in average 95 kurus.

I read some time ago that any 'energy credit' you have is wiped out on 31st December each year - is this still true? Also, what is the likely cost to have 21 panels installed (3 phase, obviously) and how many years would it take roughly, on average consumption of around 600tl per month, before the system pays for itself and you start to show a saving ? Final question, how long are the batteries and panels guaranteed for?

The “ energy credit on 31st december wiped out rule” was replaced by a “keep credits forever rule” some two years ago.
Can change any time, but only for new applications.
Solar modules are available in different sizes and power, eg, a 21 (each 1 x 1,70 meter) solar module (system) could have, say, 5,25 kWp or 6,9kWp or even 7,7 kWp.
Solar modules and systems are sold by power in kWp, efficiency in % (size of module related to power of module) and ... quality.
The payback depends to the actual prices of electricity, the size of the system, the installation place, which tariffs you have to pay for your electricity now and in the future, bank interest rates, and... the actual exchange rate (from Euro /GBP to TL).
As the indicator mentioned, he payed 8000 euros... so, roughly, 1000 euros “from solar “would make 8 years payback and 1300 euros would make 6,15 years.
We ususllay say to our customers: if you want to have quality.. think about 6 to 7 years payback.
