Anybody know where I can get swimming pool shock I've tried a few places but they don't sell it ? also is it any good for clearing the pool from green to clear quickly ? ?

Normally it is sold beside glass hammers and long weights , but as far as I am aware , you simply overdose the pool on chlorine, ie put in 2-3 times the amount that you would normally use, then give it 24Hrs to work

Thanks ttoli I'll give it a go and see how it goes be interesting to know if anyone has found any product that will do the job quicker, easier, cheaper ?

If you then want to restore the chlorine level to 'normal' you can use an appropriate amount of ammonia (you will have to be capable of calculating the requisite amount yourself!) to quickly convert the chlorines to chloramines, and reduce the amount of 'free chlorine' available in the water...
If you're not good at chemistry and mathematics, then best to leave it to someone more experienced

I'm pretty clued up with pool balances ect I'm just tired of doing it every time I leave and return maybe somebody has a easier way ? unfortunately there is nobody here trustworthy enough to let into my property to keep levels constant while I'm away, shame really but that's how it is.
