Malta to TRNC ANYONE?!

Hi All

This is my first time posting on this site but I've been lurking for a while!
Firstly, I'd just like to hello and thank everyone who contributes to a very informative and up to date forum.

My better half and myself will be moving to TRNC for a September start working as teachers in Kyrenia.
We are currently in Malta and looking forward to some peace and quiet (well as much peace and quiet you can get as a teacher).
Our problem quite simply is we can't seem to get anyone here to quote for shipping our personal effects to TRNC, they will quote for Larnaca but we've been informed against that, maybe someone can advise why, but I assume it will just be hideously bureaucratic to get it across the devide?

Can anyone recommend any shipping companies they've had experience with transferring from countries other than the UK?

Thanks in advance, Darren

Long shot, when we moved here from the UK last year we used Euromed and we could not fault them. They are in London and my contact was Ali Hamamci and his email address is [email protected] and his telephone number is 0208 365 8888 or 0208 365 8989.

Now our cargo ship stopped off at many ports before it got to Famagusta, I would have thought Ali would have contacts in each port the ship stops at. Whether he has a contact in Malta I don't know but no harm in contacting him eh ??

I wish you success.

Thanks Flash

I believe Euromed was one of the companies I contacted previously and so far not replied but I will contact Ali as I'm pretty sure he wasn't the contact I had.

One company has got back to me, Valentine removals, having seen some of the comments on their services within this forum and the old one I'm wary. Maybe someone on here can comment if they've used them lately?
They are saying that it has to be sent back to London first which seems odd to me??

Was that a whole container (20ft) with furniture, etc? Could I ask what you paid for the service?
Thanks, Darren

I had a similar problem a few years ago when I moved from Saudi . No one would ship here. I shipped to Larnaca and then brought everything south to the north. Took a bit of organising as had to visit one or two government buildings to get the appropriate import paperwork’s. Evenyuallynsorted and drove it all over with the aid amid a young Cypriot from Larnaca and was no issues at the border once presents dthe appropriate paperwork.

I’m sure that if you contact the following
company in the UK Cardinal Maritime,
(Just Google) they are based in Sharston
near Manchester.This Company has
over 100 offices worldwide and I know
they have an agent in Malta and also
an agent based in Larnaca. This is a
Very Efficient and Highly Successful
Logistics Company that over the past
15 years has won many Industry and
National Awards. You may well ask
how do I know this? because one of
my Son in laws is The Brand Managing
Director.Once u have made your
initial enquiry I’m sure your problems
will be sorted. I would recommend this
Company For Any Logistical Requirements
Throughout The World. Hope this helps.

I know it’s a few years ago but wouldn’t touch Valentines with a barge pole paid about £800 insurance never saw a penny to compensate for damaged and lost items.

Thanks Lancaster

I have contacted them through their online message system but they've yet to get back to me.

Do you know of an email address that would be better?

Thanks
