Posting for a friend in U.K. They have lost their original sales contract for their house. Is there any way to get a copy or a new contract . Their lawyer doesn’t have it.

If the contract was registered at the tapu which it should have been then go to them as I have found that the girls in there are very helpful

Sorry but why does the lawyer not have a copy? Contracts are always prepared in triplicate - maybe you could politely ask them to look again as they are obliged to keep files.

Advocates will only keep records for so long.
you can get copies of registered contracts from land registry offices . So much a page.
officially stamped while you wait. we did this in famagusta in june

When my friends were buying a house from a couple last year, they had to produce their passports, no problem!!!! It was the passports that were valid 20 years ago. They had renewed passports since then, but luckily the records office in Lefkoşa had a copy. Just to warn you might need those passports.
