Do you mean Sterling out of the ATM or Sterling out of a Sterling account held with the bank?

I understand it to be true they are charging 2.5% to withdraw sterling from your UK bank via their ATM. To be honest why should they not? They purchase the machine, provide a site and service it.

Now I am confused! I regularly - well as often as I have money in the bank anyway - draw £500.00 from the Garanti bank ATM opposite Ya Belesh in Catalkoy. I have checked back on all my bank statements and there has never been a charge for this withdrawal. I bank with Nationwide.

To make it really plain for a simple guy like me - Are you withdrawing Sterling with a Garanti Bank card from the ATM and you are drawing on your Sterling account in the Garanti Bank?

If you are drawing Sterling from a UK bank via the Garanti Bank ATM, when did they start this charge please?

Waddo, This charge has been introduced in the last couple of weeks - 2.5% when withdrawing sterling from a UK account via Garanti Bank ATM. Don't know yet if other banks are doing it too.

Just checked, my last withdrawal was the 13th Oct. How do they charge the 2.5% then? 2.5% of £500 is £12.50. Will they only pay out £487.50 and if so which slot do the coins come out of? OR Are they imposing that 2.5% on the UK bank itself?
