Re: gardening, Round UP weed killer
There are other safe ways to control or kill weeds... I want to seriously discourage you using Round Up, or any of the similar weed killers that contain glyophosate.
It's been proven to cause chromosomal damage in cells, increased risks of non-Hodgkin lymphoma in people exposed, and tumor formation in some animal studies.

Hi VikingQueen,
Round Up is sold as Endup here and contains the same active ingredient "glyphosate". You should be able to get it at any Yapi Market/DIY shop and west of Girne Meditteranean Gardener in Alsancak stock it. As with all commercially available herbicides it is perfectly harmless when used correctly ie per the manufacturers instructions.

thank you for all your replies, much appreciated
I went to a place and was offered KNOCK OUT ( instructions in Turkish) and I did not buy it because of GLYPHOSATE , I have 2 dogs and 6 cats and love them to bits

Well, you wanted Roundup - and it contains Glyphosate!VikingQueen wrote:thank you for all your replies, much appreciated

It's supposed to be safe enough for pets as long as you keep them away from treated areas until the spray has dried - mine have never come to any harm, and I've been using it for donkey's years!

According to a review in New Scientist, 25.08.18 there is no scientific evidence to support a claim that glysophate causes cancer. One review of the evidence which did cast doubt was promoted by an anti glysophate lobbyist.
Read the science and draw your own conclusions.
