Special Events at the Soulist - 10 and 11 May

Postby Apple24 » Wed 08 May 2019 7:17 am

This weekend is jam-packed with special events at The Soulist Coffee and Music House in Alsancak with a "Rock/Nu-Soul Weekend" featuring The Ladderman from Larnaca (Rock) on Friday 10 May and Paper Thieves from Berlin/Germany with Nu-Soul on Saturday 11 May. The events start at 2130hrs.

Information on the Bands:

The Ladderman:
The Ladderman is a heavy rock band from Larnaca, Cyprus with references in the progressive hard rock era. The Ladderman boast a heady, thunderous roar that resonates through their guitar-rooted music. Building their reputation through notoriously flawless live shows in Cyprus, they released their acclaimed debut “Not a Six” in 2016. Showcasing precise technical song writing, infectious groove and an overall unconventional approach to their music, the Larnaca-based rockers can simultaneously rock and groove. The band is currently working on their sophomore album, which is to be released later in 2019.
Band Members are:
Andreas Matheou on Guitars/Vocals
Rolandis Lazides on Guitars/Backing vocals
Stelios Mosfiliotis on Bass
Stefanos Eliopoulos on Drums

Paper Thieves:
Paper Thieves is a five-headed nu-soul monster with roots in New Zealand, Turkey and Germany.
The Berlin residents have committed themselves to an intricate blend of soulful vocals, neo-psychedelic guitar emissions and stimulating rhythms. Influenced by artists as varied as Kimbra, Fiona Apple or James Blake, their harmonies and instrumentation are infectious.
For the first time, with a strip down setup, Paper Thieves will be at The Soulist stage in Cyprus!
Leah Christensen - Vox, Keys
Eric Wermke - Guitar
Candas Erdener – Bass

See you there - Roland.
P.S. Also don't forget the 'Breakfast with Jazz' on Sunday 12 May, which starts at 1030hrs.
