Car insurance, how does it work?
How does car insurance work in north Cyprus?
Third party and comprehensive??
Is it the same as the UK or different?
What sort of insurance cost might there be on something like a £10K Nissan March??
thanks all for any help

Re: Car insurance, how does it work?
You do get third party and comprehensive.
With comprehensive, the car is insured, so anyone you give permission to can drive it, doesn't have to be named. Not on the policies I've had anyway.
I don't know how third party works.
I got my car (valued at around £11000) insured in April, insurance around £400. Price of insurance had gone up by a huge amount from the previous year.

Third party liability has a ceiling. For an additional payment the ceiling can be raised (with some insurers).
Be liable for a large claim with ceiling exceeded the third party policy holder will be pursued for the remainder, assuming the third party insurer is prepared to pay out to their ceiling liability, if at all.
Fully comp also has a payout ceiling. Best to discuss this with your insurer every year.

The third party insurance is compulsory, even if you purchase fully comprehensive.
