I did notice today in supreme a leg of lamb was 550 tl..
I paid 780 tl a week before ..
Then my wife forgot to defrost and went out to the local.butchers and also paid 780 to..
I'm assuming they can make money at 550 tl and this has just been clear profiteering ..

Here’s the translation…
According to the statement made by the press office of the Ministry of Economy and Energy, following Prime Minister Ünal Üstel's announcement that "the ceiling price for lamb meat has been determined as 550 TL", 10 teams affiliated with three ministries will carry out inspections with the aim of implementing this price limitation.
Citizens will be able to report their complaints about butchers, markets, delicatessens and similar businesses that do not comply with the price limitation to the Consumer Complaint Line at 171.

Re: Good news on lamb
I read they were selling the stock they have in store (all butchers not just supreme) at this price forced upon them and not killing any new Lambs because they would be losing money at this price point

Never bought lamb here. Was spoiled rotten in North Wales, when it was so tender it melted on your tongue.

The butchers are threatening to add a 'service charge' on to the price so as to cover running costs.

Re: Good news on lamb
They've already started, it seems selling at 550 means they make very little profit. Local papers state many are not selling or have shut up shop.
