How to pay for tax disc.
You can only pay for it on, or after the day it is due, NOT BEFORE. You have 1 month to renew, and pay for it, or charges start.
Write your licence plate registration in CAPITAL LETTERS without spaces. *****
Your ID Number is the number you first used when registering the car upon purchase. In many cases it is your passport number (The passport you had at the time) preceded by a capital (P) P********* (assuming your passport was used for the initial registration, (However in recent times the (P) has not been used when registering the car, so if it doesnt work, try it without the (P). This ID number will always stay the same from when the car was first registered.)
If you then write **/**/**** (Date the car was FIRST registered, Not the date that you want the tax to start from,) Use the calendar to put the date in, Year first on the right, then Month in the middle, then on the left, the Day. NOT today's date, you can then login to the system.
Verify with the code at the bottom to prove that you are not a robot.
The details of the car will then come up, and what payment is due.
On the LHS, the option should be Road Tax Debt Payment click on that, and follow the process.
When you have made payment, an option will come up for you to download, and print

Re: Road tax site
Hello
I have tried the above links as well as using the Tax Office URL from Google search : all responses show the following message
‘This Connection Is Not Secure’……..this website may be impersonating www.vergi.gov.ct.tr etc etc’
Question is, has anyone else seen this and, if yes, did you proceed with going into the site for payment?

The links worked yesterday. Just tried today and getting same insecure message as you. Firefox says that it is possibly due to an expired certificate.2Jays wrote: ↑Mon 04 Mar 2024 8:24 amHello

Re: Road tax site
Thanks AM, useful info.
Doesn’t solve my payment problem but at least I now know it isn’t just me!
Matter of interest, would you still proceed to the Tax Office www site anyway if you needed to renew? (I really do not wish to go to the office in Girni!). I am reluctant to so will probably leave it a couple of days in the hope it gets fixed.

I'd leave it a few days too. The thought of going into Girne office would fill me with dread too. If you are still having problems with online and happen to be travelling elsewhere, you can pay at another tax office. I've paid in Famagusta and Iskele in the past, but then I am nearer to them.

Re: Road tax site
A lot of the Government web sites will display the same "This Connection Is Not Secure" message due to expired certificates, it used to worry me as well.
I have been using them for years now and all have previously worked. If you leave it a couple of centuries then it may get fixed, but I think only once the North has been recognised - lol.

No matter how hard the past, you can always begin again.

Re: Road tax site
2jays, understand what you mean completely but for us the time has gone to pack our bags and go back to the UK, where at least some of the IT works and actually talks to other parts of the system as well - lol. Will miss this place I am sure but the memories will linger on forever. Take care out there.
