Hi,
I'm writing from Ireland looking for some information about an Irish woman who lived in Northern Cyprus from about 1990 to 2005. She was about 45yrs old when she arrived to Northern Cyprus and was 5’4”(162cm), spoke English and also spoke some German and Turkish. She was a quiet woman who lived with breast cancer from about 1995 and subsequently wore a black wig. She left TRNC at the age of 60 in 2005, before sadly dying back in Dublin in 2010. Does any of this sound familiar with a woman you might have known?
She was married and her husband (Irish/British) was quite a tall man - 6’3” (183cm), and had red hair and a beard in his youth. I think he still lives in TRNC. He was 10 years older than his wife. He has a surgical wound across his stomach; may have fought in the Aden campaign in Yemen; was a heavy smoker and drinker; doesn’t like dogs and may now have trouble with his memory/dementia. He worked in the past on fishing boats and repairing cars and had some expertise in explosive engineering. He’d be in his 80s now and may or may not still be alive. However he has a daughter whom he has never met, and who is keen to meet him or at least know what happened to him.
If the couple above sound even vaguely familiar, I’d love to hear from you. Please contact me on [email protected]
