They announced it on 31st July following an increase on 1st July.
Fifth column is old price, sixth is new price.

why have the electric prices risen 30% this month?
because they did wait too long for the price hikes and they had to do it "slowly" in two steps.
there was a price hike in july 2022, valid until june 2023. so, one hike for july 2023, one in august 2023.

reason is and was, mainly, the devaluation of the TL from approx 18 TL to the euro in june 2022 to approx 29 today.
electricity in 2022 was more expensive as it is today.
say, take the second column (250 -500) as a reference...
price hike from july 2022: euro - TL 18, price for one kWh 3,3 TL = 18,3 eurocent + vat
price hike from august 2023: Euro - TL 29, price 4,5 TL = 15,5 eurocent + vat.

these prices give no room for future (not 6 month, 20+ years) investments, as, eg, rise of the capacity, no filters for power stations, no new land lines incl the very much needed new and better and bigger transformers for more solar power home installations.
two examples:
a customer can not have a solar power home installation as the transformer capacity in his area is "full".
a customer can not have a bigger commercial installation as the lines can not take the power into regions where needed.
aso aso.
