Had a two day trip to Karpaz last week with friends who’d never been to that part of the island. Stayed in Burhans hotel, rooms good, food ok, ( except breakfast first morning, our eastern residents hoovered everything) , Livana for a swim then a drink ( tried to charge 300 TL for a wine and beer saying she had poured a double wine) , then golden beach little cafe , well the steps up are a death trap, beware, a beer is an eye watering 90 tl double beware and the sea water was a strange colour .
3rd visit this year and think I’m done now, it gets tiresome when everyone is charging ott prices
But the donkeys were the stars of the show and the trek right to the end was worth it.( oh, and there is copious amounts of rubbish everywhere) Shame..

Visited the Karpas many times and stayed on north and south coast and in Dipkarpaz village. The Belediyesi beach just along from Ayios Philion is great. Stayed in one of the two the wooden chalets with great views out to sea. Basic, clean with a nice balcony.

In Dipkarpaz village we stayed at both Glaros Gardens and Revakli Ev. More traditional build. Food and service was excellent.

On the south side we have stayed at the new Burhans and Tekos Place. Pool, large sunbathing areas, large restaurants. Both nice but tbh we prefer something smaller and more traditional. Our go to is The Seabird - basic, but perfectly acceptable. We have stayed in one of the wooden chalets just above the beach, plus the brick built buildings next to the taverna. The taverna is relaxed and friendly, food is good and the beach lovely.

Many years ago we stayed at The Blue Sea a few times and loved the place. Following its complete renovation it is now a very upmarket hotel. We called in recently and the staff were fantastic. Invited us in for a tour and look at rooms and suites. Inside the hotel is stunning, definitely a place for a stay for a special occasion. The rooms were really nice, well furnished and “finished”, not like some places where wires or sockets not wired in.

Returning again in a month or so.
