Car storage for swallows?

Does anyone know of anywhere that offers car storage for swallows for low/reasonable rates. Failing that what is the best thing to do leaving a car for up to 5/6 months at a time??

Seen some people try to use car covers but they always blow off.

What about covering the tyres, windscreen wipers sticking in the heat, UV damage, battery etc. With fuel in or not??

Thanks for help/advice/contacts in advance

Years back, we used to leave our car outside for sometimes 10 months at a time.

I used to jack the car up and lower onto axle stands. Battery disconnected. Hand brake off. Cover with a car cover and secure the cover down. Never had a cover blow off. Covers only last a couple of years before starting to disintegrate.

Rat poison placed under the car also.

Sometimes the battery survived a year or two like this.

We still have the car. Garaged now.

It depends on how much you value your vehicle and of course your life! Start at the bottom - leaving your car sat on it's tyres is BAD, get them off the ground! They may look good if you don't but left on with the static for months will allow them to crack in the walls and treads, sudden blow outs can cause major accidents! Axle stands are worth the money. Rat/Mouse poison around the stands to stop the critters climbing up and eating your wiring may be worth it as well. Disconnect your battery and put it in your house, battery life here is around 3 to 5 years anyway, most cars now automatic so a flat battery can give you loads of problems. Remove your wiper blades and store in the boot, they are cheap anyway but at least you will have checked them every time before you need them! Park your car so the headlights do not point at the sun if at all possible, plastic lenses suffer out here, protect them! Buy a car cover and tie it down tight over the whole car, expect it to last you two to three years. Close up your windows before you fit the cover - remove from the inside of the car all your documents and other bits you will need immediately you return - close up your air vents inside as well, you never know what can climb inside - lol. You can leave your car in gear with the hand brake off but it won't go anywhere if it is on stands anyway!! All in all think about the couple of hours you will spend to do this before you leave and again when you return - time well spent! On your return - first thing is to remove your cover. Replace your battery and then make sure you are in neutral/park and start your engine, don't race it the oil has all drained down whilst not in use! Leave it for 5 mins then switch it off again and put your wheels back on, replace all the bits you took out/off. Open your vents and windows and let it breathe a little. It's all part of your holiday and you can be happy and sure that it all works and you are safe to go back on the open road - if you can find a bit that is not a traffic jam these days - and enjoy yourself.

Or just park it under the Olive Tree and hope it works when you return!
No matter how hard the past, you can always begin again.

I’ve used the same car cover for past 8 yrs,
All be it whilst my car is inside a garage.
The cover was made in UK by profile covers in Cradley Heath. The textile is a stretch polyester with a soft inner surface specially for the application.
I think the same cover would also fair well outside but in the shade. The cover was tailored for the car.
The paintwork is as new as is all the exterior.
Without doubt covering your car will protect it from the often harsh Cypriot climate. UV is a killer of paintwork , plastic and rubber trim

Do you know if dealers accept payment by revolut /similar or does it have to be cash.

I don't think there would be a problem, paying with Revolut.
When I was shopping the other day, I was quoted one price by card then a discounted price, if I paid in cash!
Worth asking, before you pay. 😉

Are there potential problems removing the battery, on re-connection?

Presume codes needed for radio, but what about the ecu,?

Presume it's okay just to undo the terminal posts rather than completely remove it?

Thanks for all this help from people that know more than I do. All new to me

Going to answer my own question as after some research. Seems just disconnect the negative is all that's needed. Computer codes may need to be entered on reconnection and the ECU will be reset, so will need to relearn.

don't quote me on this because this is a bit unethical tip but Akacan Elegance parking lot. Find a corner spot and leave it there.

Hey, I found this for long term parking. They say you can park your cars and boats long term:
