Tax office Metehan border today

After reading the long thread on TOM on Kibkom, thought we would try today as ours runs out 27th Feb. Armed with my EU Eire passport as well as British we asked for a year. Wasn't interested in passport. Gave us a year! Now not sure whether the guy is fed up with explanations re after 31st Jan you cant have tax OR the rules have changed again!!!

They don’t cost anything

There is no charge for tax. But you have to buy insurance

thanks for your reply. Is insurance for the day or a month ? and if so how much is it please ? thanks

I know insurance is €35 euro from South to North for upto 1 month in a hired car.

Insurance for South is €25 for 1month
