Undercoat paint for wood
Does anyone know of any store in TRNC that sells undercoat paint for wood?

Hi Soner. Try here. https://www.tekzen.com.tr/ara?q=polsan They are at the 1001 shopping mall near Ercan Airport.
Or the Industrial area in Ortaoky Industrial Area. Lots of good paint shops there.

Thanks faro, but have been there many times and can't seem to find wood undercoat, the stuff we use in UK. Do they have another name for it? I see primer, but not sure if that's what I want, seems like really runny stuff. Have asked my local Yapi Market, and they probably think I am mad. Just want normal white undercoat before I gloss.

Hi Soner. Yes they don't seem to use undercoat here. Maybe a trip to Leroy Merlin. Or switch to all water based paints (Acrylics) which they do sell here. Trimetal Permacryl Then just keep overcoating.
Cheers.

Thanks faro, I will try South. Don't like the way they paint wood here, without an undercoat. Had doors painted by a said carpenter, he used paint on bare wood, which peels off nicely
I am restoring old window shutters, have painstakingly stripped off old paint, will fill, sand and paint, hence, reason for undercoat before I gloss.

Soner,
Undercoat and primer is probably what you want for bare wood.
No, I haven’t seen it here, but I have seen primer from Marshall’s, not sure if it is the same though.

PS - did you write the Geeen Line - Holiday in a Warzone book? Just finished it on my Kindle. Most enjoyed the book!

Wood needs to be primed to seal the grain before top coating. ÇOBAN TRADING in Catalkoy sell a good quality multi-primer. This provides a perfect undercoat.
