Re: Video to digital
I will disean and PapaBravo.
It's is funny how past experiences open up new doors. Worked for Kodak many moons ago as a Quality Control Grader amongst other jobs in the photographic industry. Spent 20 years as a Web Developer, mastering applications such a Photoshop, as well as using video and audio applications for some of my clients' websites. Graphic design for my printing business. Finally, sometimes helping out with airbrushing photos for my daughter's business. All of which I continued to use over the years because I enjoy art and working with digital media. Now that I am semi retired ( a long while yet before I get a State Pension ), I guess this could give me something to do in my spare time and help towards funding my new life in the TRNC. Don't need much, so I hope you will be pleasantly surprised with my pricing and use my services.
I will definitely be up and running by 8th Feb, so if anyone else is interested, then please start digging out your old VHS Videos, DVD's, Negatives and Photos that need to be converted or restored.

Soner, Morning young chap! Interesting work you are undertaking - not for me I am afraid - BUT - I do have a load of memories stored on half and full frame 35MM slides (colour) that I have kept for years. Would you be able to "digitize" them at all?

Re: Video to digital
That was very expensive. It is not rocket science so anybody can do it, it's just that some people do not have the patience nor the time, I do, so that's where I can step in. I will list my prices in due course.

How about super 8 movies Soner? I have several but can no longer view them as I don't have a projector.

Re: Video to digital
I have my fathers cine films of us all in Palestine and Egypt in 1947/47. I had them transferred to digital format about 10 years ago and very glad I did. I have also been slowly converting my Video 8 cassettes but it is a slow process. However, the results are great and well worth the effort. I use a "My Vidbox" between my video walkman and my Imac. It is very straightforward to set up. I imagine it would also be pretty easy to set up a VHS playback machine (or even a Betamax !).

Re: Video to digital
Done it with both VHS and Betamax machines; firstly several years ago when you had to buy a video capture card which you plugged inside your desktop, and subsequently with external USB devices - available from as little as £10, but more expensive are that bit better....wrymouth wrote:.... Re: Video to digital
If enough interest, then I may invest in 8mm transfer equipment but not until mid June. Would first like to see how things go with initial set-up for digital transfer of negs, slides, VHS, etc..
