Great week! Got 2 years at Immigration after the total hassle of getting up early for Police station in Girne ( over 60). That was on December 2nd. Then early morning for Health Insurance, Ministry of Health and residency! Left it until this week. Had great joy in presenting our residency on paper to Metahan on our return from south. Great not to ask... How many days... To celebrate, went to Alcin Inci Lapta. They had previously, been over top with bar prices. Had an amazing meal. Huge Fillet steak with café De paris sauce. Only 80 Tl. Bar prices reduced plus January discount. Thoroughly recommend the food and service plus ambience. Great week! Now can relax. Cosy in apartment. Who cares about the weather, now can sleep in, NO EARLY MORNINGS FOR WRETCHED RESIDENCY.

Interesting regarding your issues with the immigration. ‘This mirrors what a couple of friends have told me.
There appears to be know need to get there at the crack of dawn.
Can commet on the restaurant which we found with lovely food but the Wine prices where out of the ball park. I appreciate that we will always pay more in a “ proper restaurant “ but some of the prices were silly

Cambridge. Got there 5.40. Ticket no.5. Those that got there at 6.20 were tickets 44. It is not just ex pats but mainly Turkish plus Russians plus students. System is now, a list on door to write your name on. If you don't want to be there all day you need to be early. Individual choice!

Where abouts in Lapta is this restaurant please?

The illegal foreign workers amnesty runs until 16th February, after that date it should get quieter at Lefkoşa...

Is there a simple checklist for all the documents etc. required for Temp Residency?

By my reckoning, the original post was split about 50/50 between residency and a restaurant - how does that equate to hijacking?
