End of British Summer Time
Don't forget clocks should be put back at 0200hrs on Sunday. I'm putting mine back to 1966 when things were so much simpler.

It was probably written down somewhere and I've missed it, but did Turkey go back this year? I know they fiffed and faffed around a couple of years back.

Checked the time on my computer this morning; it had NOT gone back - so, checked the 'Time and Date Settings' and in the time zone box - "(UTC+03:00) Istanbul" - so perhaps they have not; if they had, it should now read "(UTC+02:00)Istanbul" - i.e. UTC(GMT) + 2 hours.....sophie wrote:....but did Turkey go back this year?...
As a result, I've had to manually set the time rather than allow the location/time zone to set automatically....

Turkey has not put the clocks back
So if you are transiting through a airport allow enough time.

Try setting the time zone to Cyprus, it works for me.jofra wrote:Checked the time on my computer this morning; it had NOT gone back - so, checked the 'Time and Date Settings' and in the time zone box - "(UTC+03:00) Istanbul" - so perhaps they have not; if they had, it should now read "(UTC+02:00)Istanbul" - i.e. UTC(GMT) + 2 hours.....sophie wrote:....but did Turkey go back this year?...

Re: End of British Summer Time
Doesn't work for me; 'Time Zone' doesn't show Cyprus - only a list which shows '(UTC+xx:00)', followed by various cities/towns around the world.
'Region' does show Cyprus along with other countries, but now I have selected Cyprus and 'Set the time zone automatically' is on, then as said - UTC+03:00 Istanbul = one hour out!
This is on Win10 version 1903; I know that over the years Microsoft have occasionally had to alter their time zone lists because some country has changed things (like Turkey) so perhaps in a few days (or weeks) a download will appear....

Wouldn't it be much simpler if the whole world just put the clocks forward or back 30 minutes, depending if it were April or October and had done with it?

MnM much simpler if they just left things as they were and stopped mucking around. It doesn't suit everybody, I know there are moanings and groanings about children going to school etc, farmers harvesting etc, etc and you can't make everyone happy, but just leave it alone. People and circumstances always adjust eventually.

Exactly sophie, so a 30 minute shift should in theory, make all of the people happy 50% of the time, (i think).

Don't all children travel the 200 yards to school in their parents huge Chelsea Tractor these days? Mum in her pj's sat in the zig zag markings outside the school?sophie wrote:MnM much simpler if they just left things as they were and stopped mucking around.
