Lloyds Internet Banking
For several days I have been experiencing problems logging on to my Lloyds Internet account, when attempting to log on I receive the following message:-
Sorry, an error has occurred (Error: 1007 ID 04489626)
Is anyone else experiencing similar problems with Lloyds Online Banking?

No problem with my login either! Probably always let me in because I owe them money on the credit card and they want to be sure I can pay it back - lol.
No matter how hard the past, you can always begin again.

I have this problem for the last couple of weeks. I asked here on the forum, see link.
It worked once - 20.08. - and then suddenly again this morning.
I tried everything, using google, mozilla, bing, clearing history, scanning laptop for antivirus etc, using VPN, nothing worked.
I tried to ring them but that was just useless, they told me they are busy and ''I MIGHT HAVE TO WAIT 10 MINUTES'' - the cheery, automated voice asked me what my problem was. I stated that internet banking did not work - so what does she say--- this line is still very busy, why not try online banking!!!!
We seem to have had bad internet connections in the last couple of week .
I am in Dipkarpaz and I get my internet via BROADMAX
Yesterday the man said it was cyber attack and he sent me this link. -

Thanks everyone for your input, conducted a "Process of elimination" (took my Ipod to a local hostelry with free wifi), and managed to access the bank. It looks like I could have a problem with my router - waiting for a reply from MM tomorrow.

MM rectified the problem, I think that it may have been a router issue which they fixed remotely.

Just be careful when using free wifi anywhere and especially if using on line banking.Kanonier wrote:Thanks everyone for your input, conducted a "Process of elimination" (took my Ipod to a local hostelry with free wifi), and managed to access the bank. "Be careful" - How, exactly?Chriswright03 wrote:Just be careful when using free wifi anywhere and especially if using on line banking.
What does that mean?
What steps or procedures should people employ in those circumstances?
How would they know if there was anything wrong?
Is it ever safe to do on line banking using free wifi?

Re: Lloyds Internet Banking
If I may be so bold. The simple answer is NO! Don’t ever do any online banking or pass sensitive information over any open network, and free WiFi generally uses open networks (as you can see because you don’t need a password).Keithcaley wrote:"Be careful" - How, exactly?Chriswright03 wrote:Just be careful when using free wifi anywhere and especially if using on line banking.

Here’s an article explaining why.
Personally I use an app called Encrypt.me whether on an open or even a “secure” network (including my home WiFi). Just because I’m paranoid doesn’t mean they aren’t out to get me

Thanks Mowgli597, that was my gut feeling, really...
I know that you can be 'Careful' when using an ATM by looking all around to make sure that no one can see your PIN or snatch your wallet, but the threats posed by free wifi are rather different!
No disrespect intended towards Chriswright03 by the way, thank you for highlighting the risk...

Keith you are quite correct in your questions and I would normally have given a more detailed post explaining why but was just off out the door and didn't have the time to google, copy and paste the reasons why. So thanks to Mowgli for that.
Free wi-fi is notoriously unsafe as it is not secure therefore putting your passwords for you banking over that can never be a good idea.

Re: Lloyds Internet Banking
I jokingly said that I even encrypted my own home WiFi network, but joking aside don’t forget that the supposedly more secure WPA2 protocol which most tech savvy people would be using on their modems/routers was found to be vulnerable (after 14 years of use!).
More here.

Re: Lloyds Internet Banking
I was unable to log in to Lloyds banking before we went to the UK, once over there, using the same iPad, there was no problem at all. Once back in TRNC again unable to log in, I have contacted MM who said they would look into it and get back to me, I haven't heard from them and the problem remains, really very inconvenient being unable to access bank account.

Re: Lloyds Internet Banking
I sent an email to MM this morning, got a ticket number by return and an email this afternoon to say it was fixed. Checked and it has been. Well done MM.

I hear what you are saying but it is a relatively simple exercise to change your bank access details online using your home wifi.

Re: Lloyds Internet Banking
It would appear not to be the case with the OP at the moment though hence them using Free wifi to access their account.
