Concert by The Blackburn People's Choir here in Girne!

It is with great pleasure that we can announce that The Blackburn People;s Choir will be performing a concert at the Girne Amphitheatre on Thursday 1st June 17 in aid of our local charity the NorthCyprusCancerCharityTrust.
We are thinking of a Picnic theme where you can bring your own cushion, food and drink to enjoy whilst listening to the harmonic and joyful music of the choir performing with a back drop of the beautiful sea.
What a setting and what a night it will be.
Tickets will be on sale shortly for a 20TL donation and we will post the different venues where you can buy them from or else on the night!
Please make a note of the date and come and join us for an incredible and enjoyable evening.

Nighttime does not help with the concert start time does it !! Is it 7pm - 7.30pm - 8pm - all are "nighttime" - aren't they !
I don't need "Subtitles" but a good old fashioned lesson in manners may not go amiss for some.

'Good Afternoon.
We have a problem posting on the Kibkom Forum and would like to ask if there are any of you that could post on our behalf.
The post is about the Charity Concert being performed by the The Blackburn People's choir and is on the main page of the Forum.
Basically people are asking questions and we cannot give them a reply, maybe you can!
Thursday 1st June,17 and the concert will start at 7.30 pm but the doors will be open from 6.30 pm.
We are asking people to bring their own cushions and food/drink so we will have the theme of a picnic by the sea whilst listening too and enjoying the voices of the choir.
It will be 20 TL per person entrance and tickets can be bought on the night, from our two Charity shops Heartbeat and The Hut or from various venues displaying the concert posters.

The exciting news is that the Choir will be performing a medley of songs in the Girne square near to Cafe George on Sunday 28th May,17 when tickets for the main concert can be bought.
They will be singing from 12.00 Noon until 2.00 pm.

Can one of my clever friends reply to the comment of PapaBrava to the suggestion that this would stop people buying tickets for the Main Concert so reducing money being raised for our Charity
.
We sincerely hope people will not see it this way.
The choir is singing a medley on Sunday in the square to give a ''taster'' of their incredible talent and also to encourage people to buy tickets for Thursday evening's picnic and concert.
As we have permission from the Girne Beledeyise collection boxes will be 'shaken and stirred' for anyone who wants to donate to us the NorthCyprusCancerCharityTrust and because the choir cares and are performing for free all donations will help us to help the State Hospitals help us all

We are back with the Kibkom Forum thanks to Soner's good advice and a step by step guide what to do by a dear friend of the Charity.
Thank you to those kind people who have been posting on behalf of us to the queries and questions about the forth coming concert by the Blackburn People's Choir.
The choir are flying in today from the UK and are performing two main charity concerts, one on Monday in Famagusta and the one here in Girne on Thursday the 1st June at the amphitheatre.
Tomorrow they are going to be singing a snippet of their repertoire in the square in Girne and we will be there with tickets for anyone to buy for the main event.
We will not be asking you to buy raffle tickets for a change but just for you to come and join us with a picnic (including a tipple of your choice), soak up the incredible atmosphere of the theatre with the beautiful backdrop of the sea and relax and enjoy the melodic sounds of the choir.
We are going to enjoy it and we know you will as well.

I will be be in the square from 12.00 Noon to 2.00 pm with tickets in hand for the concert on Thursday 1st June.
The lovely people from the choir will be there ready to perform just a few songs for you all.

Thank you to everyone who came to the square today and very kindly dropped coins and ''Notes'' into the charity buckets whilst listening and enjoying
the beautiful harmonies of the choir.
A big thank you to Cafe George for looking after us so well and the choir really appreciated the tubs of fresh water.
It was so funny and lovely to see some of the expressions of the people passing whilst the choir was singing.
All different nationalities some very surprised to hear such music being sung here in North Cyprus but all enjoying the music after the initial shock.
The highlight for me on a personal note was when an elderly local Lady came up and hugged me and in stilted English said how much she had enjoyed listening to the beautiful music and why had this not happened before!
Obviously I passed this on to the choir members and they were really touched.
Thank you to the bucket ''shakers and stirrers'' especially a lovely young man who worked so hard and the amount raised just in the buckets was 600 TL plus shrapnel !
All we need now is a good house on Thursday ! Tickets available on the door which will be open from 6.30 pm and PLEASE do not forget your cushions and picnic!

The idea was that you were lucky they put the date and the thought of any event in N. Cyprus starting on time would be a new experience was the point of the first remark... and the fact that I will not understand people from Blackburn was the reason for the second.... it was all meant in jest.

All of our team of Volunteers will do our very best to make the concert run as smoothly as possible but we are in North Cyprus and it is renowned for the 'Cyprus shrug' and the word 'Problem'.
We know three things for sure though.

1. The choir will be performing and singing their hearts out and making sweet and beautiful music.
2. With the sea in the background and the night sky above it is going to be a stunning setting.
3. There are a lot of caring people here who give our small charity their support and help us do what we do!

Picnic ( don't forget your favorite tipple), cushions and 20 TL in your purses wallets or pockets that is all you will need to join us in a special night!

Someone came in to The Hut this morning to ask if it would be OK to bring folding chars to the the concert on Thursday - No Problem!
Anything to make you more comfy whether it is cushions, blankets or chairs!
I have just been looking at the Girne Amphitheatre FB page and what a setting for a concert - stunning!
Please do not forget your picnic and tickets CAN be bought on the night so no worries if you have not bought yours as yet.

I have just been informed that the road from the mini round about by the amphitheatre up to the main car park has been closed off today for repair.I,
Whether or not it will be open again to night I don't know.

We are so pleased you enjoyed it as we certainly did.
The theatre is such a stunning setting and the Blackburn People's choir sang their hearts out for us.
Everyone said how much they had enjoyed it and how special it was.
