pop ups
I've been really busy and have not had much time for the laptop and the forum. Suddenly I find every time I log on, I get all sorts of pop ups. Is this me or is this the forum??

It sounds like that you have visited a web site/downloaded something, at some stage which has infected your PC/laptop with some 'malaware' or virus.
The usual signs are - when you 'hover over' or click on a word which is underlined or a small icon, which prompts the pop-up. Although they do come with other variations.
Try running a virus check first. Failing this try and get hole of a program 'malwarebytes' i believe you can download a trial version - see what it reports back to you.

Try AdBlock I have it running on Chrome and it has blocked 1,000's of adds very small programme you won't know it's there, have a look around the web you'll find a download and it doesn't cost anything, if you get a persistent and difficult add you can force it to stop.
