Power Cuts Çatalköy
Does anyone know the reason for the (so far) 3 short power cuts today and the power cuts yesterday?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Power Cuts Çatalköy
Up the hill past the riding school and then across the open scrub land to the right, towards Girne, there was erected a large phone/radio mast about three months ago. Early this month a new 11000KVA cable was put in (underground) between the tower and the over head power cables on the road past the riding school. Today the KibTek crew (1 working and 4 watching) were hard at work connecting up the three core cable to the overheads. I guess that because they did not want to partake of some free electricity themselves, they turned off the power to the whole world before touching anything (only God will know what sub station isolation is) and I will guess that is the reason for yesterdays and today's many small power cuts.
No matter how hard the past, you can always begin again.

The surge of adreneline as I run around the house, checking to see which bits of gear have survived the cut, and which have succumbed, keeps my heart going

UK Law.
Your Electricity Board by law must deliver 230 volts +10% - 6% (ie. between 216.2 volts and 253 volts), and to maintain the frequency at 50Hz ± 1% (ie. between 49Hz and 51Hz) over a 24 hour period.

I think the new Danish made Kibtek meters display the incoming voltage.
But I'm not a spark Maybe someone with some electrical knowledge can confirm this.
I know our supply was way over the limit, until spotted by our neighbour.
This caused numerous household electrical items damage, when the power came back on.

I understood that the cuts were caused by the team laying water pipes cutting through the cables whilst they were digging. Who knows!
