Just finished with the police as two holiday homes in our road have been broken in to. If you have friends who are "Swallows" it might be an idea to check their houses. Entry was made in both cases by forcing the rear patio doors.
Seems to be on the increase, sadly.

People should consider getting CCTV fitted it's not difficult and as long as they have a reasonable internet connection (or a connectable one close by, maybe a friend or neighbour ?) they will be alerted immediately by e-mail, text or by phone call on some systems when any movement is detected, stand alone cameras with internal storage will record and upload snapshots and video to hard drive (or cloud based storage) so can be viewed from anywhere. the motion alerts are very very quick literally within seconds of detecting motion you have an e-mail so you can respond accordingly potentially catching the thieves red handed.

What are they stealing? is it small stuff they can carry or bigger things like televisions etc ?

It was small stuff. Lap tops and drink! Televisions and I pod docking station left behind.

Worrying to hear that as we have a holiday home in Catalkoy, very unsettling. Our next door neighbours in uk were burgled last weekend when they were away for the weekend, we didnt hear a thing, broke the patio window and stole a lot of stuff, police and forensics were there for a long time, feel a bit skitzy now reacting to the least sound.

I am sorry to hear about the burglaries, i have just brouht over from the UK some more security locks for windows and patio doors, i have fitted more than 600 to houses, i am approved by Esta and Dagli insurance companies, i am trying out a shed / house alarm, if this works i will ship more from the UK
