My sister used the dental services as she needs sedation even for check ups. As far as we know the usual dentists cant do sedation( or the ones we asked said they couldnt and told us to go to NE) Although more expensive(due to sedation) the service was excellent. I went for the womens health check day and that was fine too.

The dental faculty is very good, with specialists for absolutely every procedure rather than a general dentist doing everything not quite perfectly! Consequently there are separate departments for fillings, implants, crowns etc. Although this is a good thing as everything gets done by a specialist, there is a slight problem with communication between the departments. On your first visit, they will do full panoramic x-rays, and then you will see a professor or lecturer who will advise on what treatment is necessary and send you to the relevant department.

The cost of treatment is a bit cheaper than the local dentists, with a big saving on implants, and a discount for British Residents members. As it is a teaching hospital, one can assume that procedures are done correctly, as there are generally several students watching, although only qualified staff actually work on you.

I have just had a bridge done there, and it is a far superior job to that done previously by a very popular dentist in Girne.

How is the staffs English now? I had something done their about 3 years ago, and while the service and treatment was excellent, only a couple of people spoke English, which meant long delays waiting for someone to come and translate for me.(Ok my fault as I don't speak Turkish) Just wondered what it was like now.
