new regulations for net-metering

Postby kibsolar1999 » Sat 08 Apr 2017 9:23 am

on 5th of April , the regulations for net metering changed.

1. it is not necessary any more to prove your electric consumption to determine the maximum permitted solar power to be installed.
so, the way (for some who did ask here) is free and they do not "need to push electric consumption" to be permitted to install the one or other kWp more as actually needed.

the new limitations are
- max 7 kWp for single phase homes
- max 15 kWp for three phase homes
to avoid that you produce far too much and can not use the produced energy (and collect eg, thousands of credits = kWh) , a calculation about your energy consumption - needed solar power is very much helpful.
- if you do produce too much, you can apply to sell credits (kWh) back to KIBTEK.
but, for a quite low price, which is quite equal to your " 20 year solar production price".

2. also businesses are permitted to install renewable energy systems for net-metering. limitations are different here.

Do you at Kibsolar or anybody else have experience of using lithium-ion batteries in storing solar energy in TRNC. There are f.ex. Tesla's Powerwall and Schneider's EcoBlade in the market.

jusu,
most of the, eg, charge controllers (+ battery management) we sell and install are (also) appliciable for Li ion batteries.
but Li ion batteries are a bit expensive, say it like this.
so, you will have difficulties to find them here, but of course you can order.

despite of this, not all of the solutions to be connected to eg, the Tesla powerwall, are legal in N. Cyprus.

what are you planning to do?

In addition, the new regulation offer several possibilities for installing net - metering systems.
Eg,
It is not necessary any more that the PV system is installed on your grounds.
Meaning, owners of private homes or companies can install PV systems “somewhere else” and get net metered through a second “grid meter”.
Even several private home or business owners can share one plot and can install systems, each one gets an own “grid meter”.
You do live in an appartement, you have a house or business with high consumption, but no roof , garden or any other south orientated space?
now you have options.
