Parcels of tea samples from China

Hi Everyone,

I am an American and my wife is Chinese, we are considering a move to TRNC and wondering if we'll be able to get shipments from China without too much problems. We own a tea company and I need to get samples of teas from China every week. We typically ship EMS, so I am wondering if this service works well in TRNC? or perhaps DHL?

Would tea samples be taxed? Would Customs have a problem with us getting parcels often?

Thanks!

It's a unique situation. You would need to seek advice from the Customs department. Get it in writing!

Thanks for the reply! Are they fairly approachable and open to inquiries?

Just a suggestion, why not talk to a shipping agent first and they can advise all that is needed and how the Customs work in TRNC for the type of goods you wish to import. As with many others on the forum people have their own companies to recommend but I would recommend Euromed as they have been around in Famagusta for a long time...have a look at their website and lots of links at the bottom of the page or try and contact them to speak for advice..
