PLEASE HELP FIND MY DOG ALFIE - MISSING NOW 6 DAYS, TODAY.

URGENT - IF YOU KNOW ANYONE THAT GOES HUNTING IN KARSIYAKA, LAPTA OR ALSANCAK MOUNTAINS PLEASE TELL THEM TO LOOK OUT FOR HIM AS REWARD AND THAT HE WILL BE REALLY SCARED SO APPROACH HIM SLOWLY AND NOT WITH GUN. WE WENT THROUGH KARSIYAKA TO LAPTA AND SAW HUNTERS SO IF THEY SHOT AT HIM OR SCARED HIM HE WILL JUST BE HIDING IF INDEED NOT BEEN SHOT!!!!!

We have not found our baby but I feel he is still here with us, and not dead. Anyone going to walk the mountains I just want you to know that he went missing near the big lodge house made of wood on the pathway there. So if you walked through Karsiyaka village toward the Karsiyaka cemetery before you go round the winding mountain road there is a road that bares up on your right, on the mountain, Gunay walked up there about 5 or 10 minutes and Alfie run off. They think as mating season (although his bally bags are chopped off) they still sense females. We (me and G) have been up there last 3 days total around 12 hours but no luck. Wonder if stuck somewhere, hurt or just exhausted as now tmrw, 6 days. Appreciate any help. best wishes and good luck to you amazing walkers. Do you think he would wander down towards the main Girne - Lapta road in search of food or is he too nervous of traffic. Its a strange phenomenon but lost animals tend to wander downwards(hill) when lost. Can you publish a phone number just in case he is spotted on or near the main road and someone can phone you there and then. Keep the faith that he's alive and well somewhere.

On my phone now. Provided he's still wearing the collar he should be OK. I assume he's been chipped, so a vet can check.

I hope you find him soon what a distressing time ... Have you posted on some of the local animal charities on FB they have a lot of followers

Probably stating the obvious but have you looked the other way towards the dam, and the far end of Karsiyaka?
You mentioned Lapta and Alsancak, do you live that way?

Back2back, there is a dog that lives in Yesiltepe that often gets out and roams around so the "sighting" in Yesiltepe near Golden Bay beach may be that dog and not Alfie.

Still worth checking all sightings though.

I have a puppy that was found on the road in Alsancak but have no idea where she came from, only about 2.5 months old with a broken leg.

Golden Bay and Girne to Lapta for 7 hours yesterday a few black dogs and other strays not Alfie though, at least I feed them x

Probably better to offer a reward to a nominated charity. I am sure members will help without a reward in any case. This would discourage someone a niche in the market for abducting dogs for a reward.

Pretty sure most of us would either refuse the cash reward or ask for a charity donation. Hope you find Alfie.

Hi soner, will give to charity but most people have refuse it the reward was to encourage people to look in mountains etc. where otherwise they would not walk. For example the money has persuade some hunters to go out today and look when the are huntiing and to persuade them not to shoot at the dog, I hope you understand my reasons now, thanks for advise though, Amanda

Can you confirm the colour of the collar he was wearing as red not blue. If it was blue ring me on0533 8868360

Alfie run off with a red leather collar with silver tag with name and phone number. I do know that here, when dogs go missing they sometimes come back without a collar because horrible people sometimes take it off of them. I have bought a stray a collar before 2 days later saw him and collar gone. Alfie is completely black apart from a finger nail size of white on the centre of his breast bone, you can see it if he is standing up of sitting down.
