Anyone with ties to the UK might be affected by the new rules, which determine whether you are resident in the UK, or not, for tax purposes. You could be caught in the net with surprisingly few days spent in the UK – as few as 15!. You could end up paying taxes in both the UK and Cyprus on all your worldwide income and capital. My UK tax residency checker might help you find out if you might have a problem.

Re: New UK Tax Residency Rules
Yet another reason to not go to the UK. I did spend about 10 days in the UK in the last tax year, but that isn't normal for me, I do try to never go there. Not really a problem at the moment though as I don't have an income but once all my pensions kick in (if ever), then it will be a case of never going back and now when people ask, at least I can give them a very good reason.
