No issues IF you are an EU National.
If you have nationality form outside the EU there could be a problem if you cross the Green Line....

What would happen, if anything, if we flew into Ercan and out through Larnaca?

Nothing. Friends have just done this. All you need to do is the usual passport production at Metahan or Beyamurdu on the way to Larnaca. Assuming you have a UK passport.

Re: Fly out Larnaca return Ercan
i dont think that many of us want to start a new discussion about it.. see..
viewtopic.php?f=8&t=44033
but i when see this...
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-45457150
and these clashes are only some of the "new problems after brexit", then, maybe, UK citizens may get a lot of problems to enter the RoC via the green line crossing points.....

Re: Fly out Larnaca return Ercan
i just read an artictle about a no-deal brexit:
you may take in consideration that, if we get a "no-deal" Brexit, no UK-EU-UK flights might be available from april /19 for the next period of time .
days, weeks, month, who knows.
Reason: no aircarrier has a permission to start and land either way.
other no-deal consequences are:
eg, tax for chicken 22%, cheese 44%, beef 40%.
at borders truck queue of + 200 km.
as a result
airbus already stock parts that production does not go down
pharma companies do stock drugs and life essential medication
aso
estimated "no deal costs" till 2020 for the EU 122 billion, for the UK 140 billion euros ( that would be approx 250 euro per head in the EU, but 2500 euros per head in the UK)
UK gov prepares for new debts of 80 billion GBP a YEAR till 2030, and still plans cuts in "public expenditure".
UK police prepares for riots and is also ready to call the military.

Re: Fly out Larnaca return Ercan
Should there be a 'no deal Brexit', why is air travel a particular issue? Many other countries fly in and out of the EU area but are not members of this 'club'. Why cannot the UK airlines enjoy the same facilities as all of Africa, Australia, Canada, China, India, Israel, New Zealand, Norway, Russia, South America, Switzerland, Turkey, the USA et al?

It isn't an issue and will be solved or good luck to Spain and Greece coping without the 5+ million British tourist that visit every year.tomsteel wrote:Should there be a 'no deal Brexit', why is air travel a particular issue? The whole project fear falls down when you understand that punishing Britain will be the greatest act of cutting your nose off to spite your face in history.

tomsteel,
because before you start and land, a country needs several memberships and agreements.
no agreement = eg, no over flight rights.
these agreements with other countries had been made by the EU administration in behalf of their members.
but, in case of a no deal Brexit, the EU has no agreement with the UK and all other countries also have no deal with the UK any more as well.
how long would take to copy-paste(?) these contracts, sign them and put them into operation... is not sure...

My money is on Greece and Spain to win as they amaze us with their efficiency and set a new record sorting these contracts out

So, do you think these non-EU countries will have no desire to fly in and out of the UK with tourist, trade, post etc and not find a mechanism to facilitate this? And, what about the EU club countries, are they also banned?
This is piffle and scaremongering by the 'remainers'.

Not like politicians to lay the groundwork for cocking up Brexit with some worst case scenarios.kibsolar1999 wrote:most probably piffle, scaremongering and propaganda...

It's more the civil service really, which is why Gove wanted to completely overhaul the civil service as part of Brexit before him and Boris did each others legs.
Worse case scenario, UK holidaymakers go to North Cyprus instead of South Cyprus, Turkey instead of Greece and finish off the Greek economy.
America will sort out flights as Trump hates the EU.
Albania and Kosovo will obviously be a huge loss.
The longer this goes on the more I'm for calling their bluff and going for a hard Brexit.
