High Life Hotel

A five minute drive east of Kyrenia, brings you to High Life hotel. Once you take the left turn for the hotel, as the road winds itself towards the sea, you reach fields with the hotel on the left.

High Life is a set of two two-storey buildings with rooms on both floors and a swimming pool in the middle, all of which enjoy either sea or garden views. Its immaculate swimming pool with a small bar has a very relaxing atmosphere. To ensure this tranquillity, children under fourteen are not allowed.

The gardens are a delight. The management have pride in the manicured lawns. They are so lush and palm trees, all sort of flowers and even birds of paradise give you the feeling you are in the tropics.

The restaurant and patio are located overlooking the sea. Meals are served indoors or al fresco. You have a view of the coastline from here all the way to Kyrenia. High Life is located several meters above sea level which gives the patio its wonderful sea vistas, imagine breakfast right above the Mediterranean.

Being a single traveller, I prefer Sammy's a small (24 rooms) but very friendly hotel. A mix of Turkish & repeat Brits makes for an enjoyable stay for me.

Put your back to Pia Bella and go left, take the next turning on the right (not the road by the cemetery) by the taxi rank, at the bottom of that road is Sammy's ……..

We went to Hi Life for breakfast - it is a little gem. Quiet location close to their beach and lovely well kept gardens. We passed a couple of open rooms that were being cleaned and they looked very smart and spacious. The breakfast is excellent and the staff very friendly - and what a setting.

Yes, you can get cheaper cooked breakfasts elsewhere, but we are happy to pay a little extra for quality. Highly recommended.
