Butterflies in Lapta today Thursday

From about 10 this morning,so many med.sized brown butterflies flying East to West,every few seconds,and still they continue to pass,over the pool over or around the house.Obviously on a mission,Any experts can suggest???Oh none stopped to drink or feed......Anyone one in Karşiaka got cabbage???? 2pm still passing.

I can't help you specifically, but I do know there are an awful lot of butterflies about this year. It was like snow falling on the windscreen going through Karsiyaka village this morning. Conditions must have been spot on for them through the winter.

and they love the lantana in flower!

shame the human species like neat and tidy and want it cut

FM you must have driven through the swarm that passed Lapta......but where did they come from,where they going??Even butterflies must have their own radar system.Some 'strag' butterflies still passing hours later !! Must try and google harden today

Mike there is a website cyprusbutterflies.co.uk you can record what you have seen and where, it covers North and South.

Our lantana hedge has been covered in hundreds of butterflies for days. Very beautiful sight. If you walk past it is like a halo all around you. Love it
